Battle of the Cans Holiday Food Drive

THE COLORADO SELECT HOLIDAY FOOD DRIVE: BATTLE OF THE CANS!
In addition to building hunger awareness in our community, the annual Holiday Food Drive helps bring in much needed food donations to the Action Center who provides assistance to more than 28,000 Jefferson County residents and the homeless.  As this is the sixth year The Colorado Select will participate in holding a Holiday Food Drive to benefit the community and this amazing cause, we’ve decided to up the ante by creating a competition amongst our Power Play Pal aligned teams!

Pikes Peak – 19U AAA, 12U C470

Mt. Evans – 19U AA, 16U AAA, 10U
Grays Peak – 14U AA, 14U A, 8U

From October 15th to November 15th, our Power Play Pal teams will be participating in a race to fill Action Center Thanksgiving food baskets!  All food donations can be dropped off in the designated bin in front of the Select office at Edge Ice Arena starting October 15th.  The final day to drop off food donations is Sunday, November 15th at 9 p.m.  

HOLIDAY FOOD NEEDED
Turkey Gravy, Instant Potatoes, Corn Bread, Canned Yams, Stuffing, Pie Filling, Cake Mix, Frosting, Canned Cranberry Jelly, Jell-O.  Any food donations are accepted.  Not just Thanksgiving items.

GRAND PRIZE
The Power Play Pal team that collects the most food items (quantity) will win a team party to include pizza, brownies and a game of shinny (Date/Time TBD).  The winning team will be announced on the Select website no later than Monday, November 23rd at 5 p.m.

A Jefferson County human-service nonprofit since 1968, the Action Center’s mission is to provide an immediate response to basic human needs and promote pathways to self-sufficiency through intervention, prevention and connection program areas.
