Colorado Select Girls Hockey

Sunday Dec 18th marked the 4th annual playing of our CSGHA Alumni game.  We saw 31 out of our approximate 113  proud Select alumni at the game, 26 suited up to play in the game. This year we had a wide range of alumni grads, the oldest being a 2000 year grad Lacey Erickson who graduated in the Select's inaugural season.  The furthest to travel to the alumni game this year was Kassee Flint (Select grad 2010) who attends New England College and her home is in Oregon. Not only did she travel the furthest but she got the alumni on the board for their first tally of the game being down by 3 goals at that point.  First period was a back and forth battle trying to establish a balance of power.  The U19AAA team got on the board first with a goal that trickled through Amanda "Goose" Vandenberg's (2010, Colorado State) pads to open the scoring. The 19's jumped out to a 3-0 first period and played strong fundamental hockey and looked like a solid team working together to earn the three goal lead. The strong play of Senior goaltender Nikki Parker shut out the Alums in her 30 minutes of play.  The Alum scored in the second and the 19's matched with another goal to make it 4-1, 5-1 was the score at the end of two periods. The Alum had a surge finding the back of the net 3 unanswered times almost tying it with less than a minute in the game.  After a flurry of chances the 19's emerged victorious for the third time in the 4 years of the game.  An exciting finish to a great game.  Here is a list of the Alumni that attended the game this year either as a spectator or a player in the game.
