March 1, 2014

Congrats to our U16AAA (and our U19AAA) for winning the Rocky Mountain District Championship this Saturday.  The girls are on their way to Nationals April1st, held in Marlborough, Mass.  No doubt Coach Pierre will "up the training " for the next four weeks!!

We'd like to thank the Dallas Stars for making the long journey to Littleton to participate in these playoff games.  They really came in full force especially in the first game held on Friday February 28th, barely losing with a score 1-0 Select.

We are so proud of our girls for shaking the ice up the second game winning with a score of 8-1. Dallas gave all their effort but couldn't stop the Select girls.

Many thanks to all the volunteers and especially to Coach Pierre, Elisabeth, and Val for hosting another amazing party in their beautiful home!

Keep up the good work girls!!!!!! We know you can do this with drive, focus, and great coaching!

Manon Rheaume Tournament/ Runner Up Finish

Congrats to the U16AAA for their Runner Up title in the Manon Rheaume Tournament!!!  Both teams, NAHA and COLORADO SELECT fought their way through this challanging tournament undefeated.

The Championship play-off game not only went in to 5 minute overtime, it also went in to two sets of a three man shoot out. NAHA ended up winning the championship.

We are so proud of our girls. They delivered an outstanding performance and we congratulate them on their win and most of all, their integrity!!! Go Blue!!

The U16AAA had a great time during this tournament with some of them meeting Manon Rheaume herself.

Power Play Pals is a mentoring program where girls from an older competitive team and younger receational team are paired up for the season.  This creates a great opportunity for the girls to connect and create a bond. The older players typically attend one or more younger players practices once a month or more, and try to attend games when schedules allow. They also  keep in close contact with the girls throughout the season via rink time, e-mails, or telephone calls.

This year, the Colorado Select U16AAA Team  had a day where they met their PPP's, the U10 Colorado Select Team, and not only learned all about each other, but even had time to squeeze in a craft making bracelets.  After their initial meeting, the older girls (U16AAA) cheered their fellow, U10 Select players in a game held at the Edge.

Not only was this exciting, but the U16's got a BIG SURPRISE when their PPP's immediately drove to the Ice Ranch and cheered them on for their scrimmage with the Arapahoe Bantams. It was so adorable and inspiring as the U10's not only cheered, but made awesome posters for their mentors!!!!!!

On November 17th, the U10's so graciously invited their PPP's to a tailgate breakfast immediately following theit ice practice.

Perfect day, perfect weather, great food,  and most of all ....perfect company!!! The U10's ROCK!!!!!!!
