Nicole Hensley Subject of St. Louis Post-Dispatch Article on Coaching

Lindenwood Lions and Colorado Select alum goaltender Nicole Hensley was the focus of an article in the September 2, 2016 edition of the St. Louis Post-Dispatch entitled "Lindenwood Grad Working Hard as Coach, Player".  The article focused on Nicole attending a coaching symposium put on by head coach Ken Hitchcock and the St. Louis Blues as she begins her career as an assistant coach for the Lindenwood women's ice hockey team while continuing to train for the US Women's National Team and the 2018 Olympics in Pyeongchang, South Korea.  Good luck with both the coaching and playing career Nicole!

Z Karlis Taken in CWHL Draft

Colorado Select alum Alexandra "Z" Karlis was one of 76 players selected in the Canadian Women's Hockey League (CWHL) 2016 draft.  Z, who finished her collegiate career as a defensemen with the University of Massachusetts-Boston Beacons earlier this year, was selected by the Boston Blades in the 15th round of the CWHL draft.  Z's selection was historic, as she became the first ever Beacon selected in the CWHL draft. Beacons head coach Lindsay Berman stated that "[t]he hard work [Z] put in while at UMass Boston and the success [she] had here will propel [her] to this next level."  There won't be many changes for Z, as the Blades play their home games at UMass-Boston.  Z commented:  "I am extremely excited to continue my playing career.  To have a chance to play for the Boston Blades would be a huge honor,"   Congrats Z - what an accomplishment!
